Bio:
Broke Royals hail from Washington, DC, and are celebrated for their “sing-along, arena-ready sound” (Billboard) and “pristine pop-rock” (Washington Post). Philip Basnight (vocals, guitar), Colin Cross (drums), Taimir Gore (bass), Rebecca Basnight (keys), and Ben Wilson (guitar) continue to blend heart, melody, and energy in equal measure on their upcoming album Campr, due out February 2026.
The record’s first single, “Still,” was described as “simply sublime” by acclaimed publication We All Want Someone To Shout For and has already drawn hundreds of thousands of views across social media platforms. Campr builds on Broke Royals’ signature anthemic sound with an evolved confidence and warmth, offering songs that feel equally at home in headphones or on a festival stage.
Previous releases, including their critically praised 2022 album Local Support and EP Big Dream, cemented Broke Royals as one of DC’s most compelling rock bands. Local Support earned placement on Apple Music’s ALT CTRL and features in Under the Radar, Washington City Paper, and DCist, while Big Dream showcased the group’s expanding range and collaborative spirit.
Broke Royals have shared stages with AWOLNATION, Dashboard Confessional, Car Seat Headrest, Michigander, and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. Named an Artist on the Rise by Southwest Airlines and one of DC’s best live bands by CBS, they remain a dynamic force—crafting emotionally resonant, high-energy songs that continue to win over audiences nationwide.
